Last week, our team at herHealth Medical proudly joined forces with F45 Lane Cove to mark Women’s Health Week 2025! It was a wonderful opportunity to step outside the clinic, meet women in our community, and start important conversations about health and wellbeing.
Our pop-up clinic inside the gym created a space where women could ask questions, learn more about our services, and connect with our friendly team. It was inspiring to see so many women taking time to think about their health alongside their fitness!

Why Women’s Health Week Matters
Women’s Health Week, run by Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, is all about encouraging women to put their health first. We know that many women are so busy supporting families, careers, and communities that their own health often comes last. This week is a vital reminder to pause, reflect, and take action when it comes to check-ups and self-care!
Regular health checks can be life-changing. Here are some of the key ones women should keep on their radar:
-
Cervical Screening Test – every 5 years from age 25 to 74
-
Breast Check (self-check and clinical) – self-check monthly from your 20s; mammograms every 2 years from 40+ (Medicare covers 50–74)
-
Skin Checks – annually from your 20s, especially if you have fair skin, lots of moles, or a family history of melanoma
-
Blood Pressure Check – every 1–2 years from 18+; more often if you have risk factors
-
Cholesterol & Blood Glucose Checks – every 5 years from 45+ (from 35+ if Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander)
-
Bone Density (Osteoporosis Check) – usually recommended from 65+, or earlier if you have risk factors (e.g. early menopause, family history)
-
Mental Health Check-In – at any age; check in with your GP if you’re experiencing stress, anxiety, mood changes, or sleep issues
Women’s Health Week shines a light on these essential checks and empowers women to seek support without delay.
Highlights from the Event
At the gym, we set up an information booth filled with resources on women’s health. Our team ran a fun quiz, handed out giveaways, and offered mini “health chats” where women could ask questions about topics such as hormones, perimenopause, mental wellbeing, and more.
One of the most rewarding parts of the day was seeing how many women were eager to learn and take proactive steps towards better health. Some attendees shared that they had been putting off check-ups or weren’t sure where to start, and they left with a clear plan to book an appointment. We also had engagement with our competition giveaway — a small but fun way to encourage participation and keep the conversation going after the event!
The Importance of Connection
For us, the event was about more than just sharing information. It was about connection. Meeting women in a relaxed environment like the gym helped break down barriers and made health conversations less intimidating. By being visible in the community, we showed that healthcare doesn’t always have to feel clinical — it can be accessible, supportive, and even fun.
Moving Forward
Women’s Health Week may be over for 2025, but the message continues: your health matters every week of the year. We encourage all women to prioritise their health and book regular check-ups with their GP. Whether it’s a routine screening or a chat about symptoms you’ve been experiencing, don’t wait until something feels wrong.
At herHealth Medical, we’re here to support women through every stage of life with compassionate, expert care. Thank you to everyone who joined us at F45 Lane Cove — we look forward to seeing you in the clinic soon!
